What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey?
Just finishing is right up there as my favorite! =) No, really....learning about new things I never knew were out there and the amount of time they take!
How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals?
If a patron asks me a question about anything involved in Web 2.0, at least I will have an idea as to what they are talking about. If I can't help them, I'll just grab the nearest teen...I'm sure they will know what to do. =)
Were there any take-aways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you?
Like I mentioned earlier the time some of these things take. I don't know how I could ever keep up a daily blog. I'm too busy. I just don't have the time to be on the computer doing all these things in my regular life. And it made me feel old!!! I'm only 30 for goodness sakes!
What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or concept?

Google Earth
I really enjoyed google earth. I have lived all over the united states, so it was fun looking at the different homes I group up in. It is amazing how much you can see. It did make me a little seasick as I fly up into space, the earth rotated and I headed for my new destination. I wonder if this will actually get even more detailed as time goes on and you will be able to look inside the window of my home and watch me washing dishes!!! Technology.....you gotta love it!

Gaming
Fun...I can see my kids really liking it. Helps keep the mind going. It's good to play little puzzle games to keep your brain smart! I would like to pop on every once in a while to play something.
Second Life
The first thing I think about is where in the world would I find the time to do this!!! I have family, kids to run to baseball, to school, to friends houses, dinner to make, clothes to wash.......the list goes on and on! Gosh, does this mean I'm old?!?!!?
Avatars seem fun. I made one and it was interesting. Don't know if I'll ever use one.

Search Engines
I always go to Google and "google" whatever it is I want to know about. I never thought about other search engines or how they could help me. I tried Dogpile. I'm so used to Google's layout I really didn't care for Dogpile but I will give it a try again in the future and think of other search engines that suit my needs better.

#11 Don't Worry.....putting this tag in your ear will only hurt for a second
Tagging is a geat way to find new information on the same subjects you know and love. but when looking at some of the stuff i normally look at online... there wasn't many other tagged sites related to it. i guess i just read the best content available cause thats what everyone else is reading. or maybe i was just narrow in my searches and i searched specificly for that particular thing. either way it found the targets i searched for. i guess of you travel alot and aren't always at a home pc this site would be great to bookmark your favorite sites.

RSS and Feed Readers
I see how this can be a useful tool. I'm just click on my favorite list and go where I want to go. I'm not on each website very often so usually there is something new on the site. If you used a site constantly I see the benefit.

MYSPACE
Myspace is not myspace! I have no desire to post my life on there. What happened to good ole meeting to talk and catch up?!?? I see a lot of younger kids on here...not my thing.
Flickr
I looked around the Flickr sight. Some interesting things to be seen! I will not be posting any pics on Flickr or any other photo site. If I want to share photos I will just send an email to the people I want to share them with...just not any Joe!
YouTube
I looked at several videos that were about the library in one way or another. There were some funny ones. I loved the one with the farting in the library! I did not create a profile. I don't see the need right now.

Pandora
It was fun typing in different songs I like and hearing what they put together. I would use this to check out new music or just listen to music while I did other things online.

Instant Messaging
A few of us tried out IMing last week. It was interesting. I had fun picking an icon to go with every line I typed. The three of us felt we were back in school, isn't there something else we should be doing at work? I don't see much use for it in my personal life. It could be good tool for patrons with reference questions.

First Game
Grape had his first game Wednesday night. He is in Little League and is in the minor division. His team is the Green Mets. All minor and major divisions in LL receive a major league baseball team name with an assigned color. Our team decided to get the boys' names printed on the back of their jerseys. They looked pretty professional out there! Grape was the starting pitcher Wednesday and had a small flock of butterflies in his stomach. He did a great job! I had to work that night so I missed the last half of the game. They ended up winning and now can get past the first game jitters. Cheese was out there cheering on his brother from the bleachers! But he is very excited for his games to begin. Friday is the next game for Grape!

Baseball season has started. Both boys are in Little League this year and the practice/game schedule makes my head swim! We have practice 2 to 3 times a week for Grape and once a week for Cheese. Grape's schedule is ever changing, new field almost every practice! Cheese always has practice on the same field. Simplicity! The first month is a difficult ajustment. (When will this ever end!) But by the time the end is near I'm sad to see the season end. Yes, we no longer have to race here or there and eat food in 13 seconds or less but no more nail biting plays, cheers of victory, lessons of defeat or good ole dirty uniforms! Batter up!!!
(Do you like the boys' code names? Last fall they gave a code name to each member of the family. Thought I'd use them here for fun!)

First Blog!
I'm excited to get started! I thought it was very easy to set up. The hard part for me was picking a blog name! It was fun reading the other blogs and trying to guess who created them.
Whoohoo! Step 2 completed!
